Slater Moore

Hello! My name is Slater Moore and I’m a professional photographer/Filmmaker, Drone Pilot, and Captain based out of Monterey, CA.

My passion is geared towards marine life and capturing images/video to pull people closer to the wild world. I’ve been photographing and filming on the ocean since 2012, and have been working on fishing and whale watching boats as a deckhand and even captain for several years prior.

@discoverywhalewatch had some orcas last week that I missed I’m hoping they swing by this weekend! The weather looks great the next few days highly recommend going out with @discoverywhalewatch if you have the chance!
We watched this Calf breach over 25 times it just went wild! There has been a new mom and calf seen three days in a row. It seems like we have a lot of mom and baby pairs around Monterey right now.
Although foggy mornings can make it tougher on finding whales, once you find them it can be some of my favorite conditions to photograph in. - See the anchovies in the third photo!
Look at the mustache in that Humpbacks mouth! :) Humpback whales lunge feeding is one of my favorite things to watch on the ocean!
Love when you can capture an animal especially and Orca just as it’s breaking the surface. Conditions have to be really calm to be able to see through the water like this and have the sun lighting up the water just right. Really lucky moment fr
